Brands that make a difference: UPPAbaby and Ergobaby's charity initiatives

At reirei, we have always chosen our brands with heart. In addition to being high-quality and innovative products, we want the company behind them to have sound values. Both Ergobaby and UPPAbaby are examples of this and both actively work to contribute to society through charity work, something that we at reirei are proud of and want to highlight in this article. 

 

Ergobaby, which is best known for its ergonomic baby carriers, has several projects and partnerships in charity work and primarily focuses on supporting organizations that work to improve health and well-being for children and families around the world. Here are some examples of Ergobaby's charity work: 



  • Baby2Baby: Ergobaby has a partnership with Baby2Baby, an organization that provides basic necessities such as diapers, clothing, and equipment to vulnerable children and families in the USA. Through the partnership, Ergobaby donates 10% of the sales revenue from a special collection of baby carriers to Baby2Baby. 
  • Healthy Children Project: Ergobaby also collaborates with the Healthy Children Project, an organization that works to promote breastfeeding and support mothers' health and well-being around the world. Through the partnership, Ergobaby supports projects aimed at educating breastfeeding specialists and improving breastfeeding-friendly environments. 
  • Adventure Project: Ergobaby also has a partnership with Adventure Project, an organization that works to create jobs and develop local communities around the world. Through the partnership, Ergobaby supports projects aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and creating environmentally friendly business models. 

UPPAbaby, which is best known for its innovative strollers, has a long history of engaging in charitable work and community initiatives. Here are some examples of UPPAbaby's charitable work: 

 

  • World Central Kitchen: UPPAbaby has a partnership with World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization working to combat hunger around the world. Through the partnership, UPPAbaby supports the organization's efforts to provide food and nutrition to vulnerable communities in disaster areas. 
  • First Candle: UPPAbaby also collaborates with First Candle, a non-profit organization that works to prevent infant mortality and promote safety for infants and families. Through the partnership, UPPAbaby donates funds and resources to the organization to support research and education on safety and prevention of infant mortality. 
  • The Birthday Party Project: UPPAbaby also has a partnership with The Birthday Party Project, a non-profit organization that works to create memorable birthday parties for vulnerable children across the USA. Through the partnership, UPPAbaby donates resources and staff to help organize and execute birthday parties for children who might otherwise not be able to afford or have the opportunity to celebrate their birthdays. 

Another example of how UPPAbaby gives back to the community, is a new collaboration with Room to Grow where UPPAbaby surprises Olivia's family with a set of products for the upcoming baby: 

These are just a few examples of the charitable work that Ergobaby and UPPAbaby are involved in. Both companies' charitable efforts focus on supporting organizations that work to improve the lives of children and families around the world, and that can help create positive social change. 

 

Why is it important for brands to engage in charitable work? Well, there are several reasons why a company should engage in charitable work. Primarily because it helps create positive change in society and assists those in need, but also to increase motivation among employees and make them feel a greater sense of purpose in their work. It can also attract customers and talented employees, while contributing to reducing environmental impact and increasing innovation and productivity. 

 

For us at reirei, this is important. For several years, we have chosen to support UNHCR's work with vulnerable women around the world. Supporting brands that engage in charitable work is also important from a customer perspective because it contributes to a better and more just world. By voting with our wallets and supporting companies that show social responsibility, we can also encourage more companies to engage in charitable work and work for a more sustainable and just world.
